Recombinant Mouse CCL8/MCP-2 Protein Summary

Description
A single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 74 amino acids corresponding to CCL8/MCP-2 Source: E. coli

Uniprot ID: Q9Z121

Amino Acid Sequence: GPDKAPVTCC FHVLKLKIPL RVLKSYERIN NIQCPMEAVV FQTKQGMSLC VDPTQKWVSE YMEILDQKSQ ILQP

This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 degrees C, but should be kept at -20 degrees C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is most stable at -20 to -80 degrees C, and can be stored for one week at 2-8 degrees C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 degrees C to -80 degrees C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Details of Functionality

Background

Murine CCL8, also known as monocyte chemotactic protein 2 (MCP-2), is belonging to the CC chemokine family and is encoded by the gene CCL8 in mouse. MCP-2 has two homogeneous MCP-1 (CCL2) and MCP-3 (CCL7). These three MCPs were found by IL-1-beta triggered human MG-63 osteosarcoma cells. CCL8 shares 62 % amino acid sequence identity with MCP-1, and shares 58 % amino acid sequence identity with MCP-2. CCL8 has chemotactic fuction for monocytes, eosinophils and neutrophils. In addition, it can also chemoattract activated NK cells.
