Approx 38 kDa band observed in Human Adipose, in Mouse Ovary and Rat Uterus and in NIH3T3 lysates (calculated MW of 27.7 kDa according to Human NP_659477.2, of 27.8 kDa according to Mouse NP_082720.1 and of 27.9 kDa according to Rat NP_604444.1).The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Bastiani M, J Cell Biol. 2009 Jun 29;185(7):1259-73. PMID: 19546242 ).

Background

The protein encoded by this gene was identified as a binding protein of the protein kinase C, delta (PRKCD). The expression of this gene in cultured cell lines is strongly induced by serum starvation. The expression of this protein was found to be down-regulated in various cancer cell lines, suggesting the possible tumor suppressor function of this protein.
