This antibody can be used for western blot, where the predicted molecular weight is 66 kDa. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
Theoretical MW
66 kDa. Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.
Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1, (PARP-1) and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 2 (PARP-2) catalyze the formation of poly(ADP-ribose) polymers in a DNA-dependent manner. PARP-2 displays automodification properties similar to PARP-1. These act by poly(ADP-ribosylation), which is a post-translational modification of nuclear proteins in response to DNA damage that activates the base excision repair machinery.

PARP Antibody Assays aid both Apoptosis and Cancer Research The PARP (Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase) protein is a zinc-dependant nuclear enzyme whose main role is to detect and repair DNA single-strand breaks (SSB). However, PARP antibody research has revealed there are at least 17 PARP proteins, which also play... Read full blog post.
