Background
This gene encodes a protein that may be involved in the degradation of G proteins via the ubiquitin-dependent proteasome pathway. The encoded protein binds to members of subfamily A of the regulator of the G-protein signaling (RGS) family through an N-terminal leucine-rich region. This protein also has a central RING finger-like domain and E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. This protein is highly conserved from flies to humans. Defects in this gene may cause the autosomal recessive, infantile malignant form of osteopetrosis. [provided by RefSeq]

I am interested in Ostm1 antibodies, but you are selling two antibodies against human protein; the first recognizing a band of 37 kDa (NBP2-19641) and the second recognizing a band between 55 and 72 kDa. What is the difference between these two bands? Please, could you tell me if with one of these two antibodies, we are able to detect mouse proteins?
- For our OSTM1 antibodies, NBP2-19641 is detecting the endogenous protein in cell lysates Raji and HL-60. NBP1-81829 is detecting an overexpression lysate expressing a transfected DDK tagged OSTM1 protein. The DDK tag adds 26kDa to the molecular weight causing it to appear higher in the gel. We have not tested either of these products with mouse samples, so we are not certain if they will recognize the mouse protein. I have run an alignment of the full proteins for human and mouse. NBP1-81829 had an 85% homology to the mouse sequence and NBP2-19641 had an 81% homology. There is potential for these antibodies to recognize the mouse protein. If you decide you want to try one of these antibodies, you can take advantage of our Innovator's Reward program. In exchange of a review of our products in an untested application or species, we will issue you a credit for the purchase price of the antibody. Regardless of results.
