This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human Fbp5A protein. The product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification

Store vial at -20C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Application Notes
This affinity-purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, immunohistochemistry and western blot. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 51 kDa in size corresponding to Fbp5A protein by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

Reactivity Notes

A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross reactivity with EMI1 protein from human and chimpanzee based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Expect partial reactivity with EMI1 from dog based on partial (~92%, 13/14) sequence homology. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Background

FBXO5 is a member of the F-box protein family which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein belongs to the Fbxs class and is similar to xenopus early mitotic inhibitor-1 (Emi1), which is a mitotic regulator that interacts with Cdc20 and inhibits the anaphase promoting complex.
