Background

NPY5R is a receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Seems to be associated with food intake. Could be involved in feeding disorders.

FAQs for NPY5R Antibody (NB100-1538). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQs).

  1. Why dose your Y5R antibodies produces 2 different molecular weight products in human tissues or human cell lysates? NB100-1538 ab probes to 50KDa protein while the rabbit Y5R ab probes to 40-42KDa protein?
    • NPY5R is a glycosylated protein. This can cause it to run at varying molecular weights depending on the cell line and Western blot conditions. The 48 kDa band represents the protein in it's unglycosylated form whereas the higher molecular weights above 50 kDa are from blots generated in conditions when the protein is in its glycosylated form.
