CD94 Antibody (DX22) [CoraFluor™ 1] Summary

Description
CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(IM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

NB100-64104 is specific for human CD94, also known as KLRD1 (Killer cell lectin-like receptor, subfamily D, member 1). CD94 is expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of T lymphocytes. CD94 is found to associate with NKG2 to form a heterodimer which is involved in the inhibition of cell mediated cytotoxicity against cells bearing appropriate MHC class I allotypes. Clone DX22 is reported to inhibit the binding of CD94 to HLA-E(2) and HLA-G(4).

Background

CD94 plays a role as a receptor for the recognition of MHC class I HLA-E molecules by NK cells and some cytotoxic T cells. Natural killer (NK) cells are a distinct lineage of lymphocytes that mediate cytotoxic activity and secrete cytokines upon immune stimulation. Several genes of the C type lectin superfamily, including members of the NKG2 family, are expressed by NK cells and may be involved in the regulation of NK cell function. KLRD1 (CD94) is an antigen preferentially expressed on NK cells and is classified as a type II membrane protein because it has an external C terminus. KLRD1 has two alternatively spliced variants that differ in the presence or absence of exon 2 sequence.
