GATA-6 was detected in immersion fixed HCT-116 human colorectal carcinoma cell line using Mouse Anti-Human GATA-6 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1700) at 10 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to nuclei. Background

GATA-6 belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors, which bind to the consensus DNA sequence (A/T) GATA (A/G) to control diverse tissue-specific programs of gene expression and morphogenesis. GATA-6 is expressed in visceral and parietal endoderm and other tissues. It interacts with several additional proteins to regulate gene expression in heart, lung, gut and gonads (1).

Western blot shows lysates of D3 mouse embryonic stem cell line, NTera-2 human testicular embryonic carcinoma cell line, F9 mouse teratocarcinoma stem cells, and rat cortical stem cells. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat SOX2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2018) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (HAF017). A specific band was detected for SOX2 at approximately 36 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
