Arthritis: Disease Bioinformatics

Arthritis is a disorder that is characterized by inflammation around the joints and is related to many autoimmune disorders. Inflammation in the joints causes a breakdown of cartilage which becomes a source of pain. There is no cure for arthritis yet treatments focus on alleviating pain and stiffness through physical therapy as the condition may become chronic. Arthritis typically affects the elderly but it can be found in younger individuals.
