Description
Glucose Transporter 9 (GLUT9), or SLC2A9, is a membrane transport protein that facilitates the traffic of uric acid and fructose across plasma memebranes. GLUT-9 is also thought to be responsible for maintaining glucose homeostasis in the cell. GLUT9 defects have been linked to both hyperuricemia and gout.
GLUT9 antibodies are useful tools for research on glucose, fructose, and uric acid regulation, as well as diseases such as hyperuricemia and gout.
