Background

Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility, and maintenance of the cytoskeleton. In vertebrates, three main groups of actin isoforms, alpha, beta and gamma have been identified. The alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins co-exist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton, and as mediators of internal cell motility. Actin, gamma 1, encoded by this gene, is a cytoplasmic actin found in nonmuscle cells.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Antibody Packs are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.

FAQs for Actin Antibody Pack (NB100-906). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. I am interested in buying an Actin antibody to use in Western blot as a loading control. We would like to use it on rat heart samples. Can you make a recommendation?
    • I would recommend the Actin Antibody (mAbGEa) catalog # NB100-74340 . This antibody works great as a loading control in Western blot and has been validated for use with rat samples.
