Background
Epac2, also known as Rap Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor (GEF) 4, is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for RAP1A, RAP1B and RAP2A small GTPases. Studies have shown that EPAC2 has a significant role in the development of type 2 diabetes. EPAC2 has also been studied in relation to ataxia, neuronitis, osteoporosis and pancreatitis.

I am looking to purchase recombinant EPAC protein, hopefully EPAC1 but EPAC2 will work as well. I need it for in vitro studies where I am measuring its ability to activate RAP in the presence of various compounds. I see that you sell recombinant EPAC2 (H00011069-P01) and EPAC1 (H00010411-P01) and was wondering if these samples would work for my experiments?
- The catalog #s which you selected are for the products that we distribute for a Taiwanese company called Abnova. Their R&D team grows all of their proteins in a cell free wheat germ system wheat germ system. Because of this particular system, some of their proteins may not follow normal PTM or protein folding processing. We therefore generally do not recommend them for use in experiments that require protein activity. These are the only Epac1 and Epac 2 proteins that we carry, and they may work in your particular experiment, but we would not be able to guarantee results.
