Description
LTBP2, also known as latent-transforming growth factor beta-binding protein 2, is a 195 kDa, 1,821 amino acid protein that is involved in assembly and organization of cellular structure as a member of the latent transforming growth factor=beta binding protein (LTBP) family. Current research is being conducted to study the effect of the protein on diseases and disorders such as fibrosis, primary congenital glaucoma type 3D, carcinoma, hepatitis, melanoma, corneal edema, Weill-Marchesani Syndrome, and pancreatitis. The protein interacts in elastic fiber formation, paxillin interaction, mitochondrial apoptosis, extracellular matrix organization, and molecular mechanisms of cancer pathways with other proteins including FYN, FBLN5, and ABL1.
