Background

Glutathione is important for a variety of biological functions, including protection of cells from oxidative damage byfree radicals, detoxification of xenobiotics, and membrane transport. The protein encoded by this gene functions as ahomodimer to catalyze the second step of glutathione biosynthesis, which is the ATP-dependent conversion ofgamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteine to glutathione. Defects in this gene are a cause of glutathione synthetase deficiency.(provided by RefSeq)

Untreated (-) and treated (+) RAW264.7 whole cell extracts (30 ug) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with NRF2 antibody [N2C2], Internal diluted at 1:500. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (NBP2-19301) was used to detect the primary antibody.

Western blot shows lysates of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line, Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line, A20 mouse B cell lymphoma cell line, and Rat-2 rat embryonic fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat Catalase Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3398) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF109). A specific band was detected for Catalase at approximately 64 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted using Immunoblot Buffer Group 2.
