Onset of symptoms is severe and quick (within 24-48 hours). Treatments include CBT, SSRI medications, antibiotics, and vitamin supplements. Exposure and ritual prevention (ERP) is used with individuals old enough to understand the cause behind these obsessions and compulsions. Immune based therapies are also used to control the immune system.
