Usually referred to as a heart attack, Acute Coronary Syndrome is caused by plaque buildup in the arteries which causes difficulty in the blood flow. The symptoms of Acute Coronary Syndrome mimic those of a heart attack which include chest pain, sudden sweating, and nausea. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and smoking are all risk factors for Acute Coronary Syndrome. Treatments for Acute Coronary Syndrome include Aspirin, Thrombolytics, and sometimes surgery.
