A lysate is a sample of cells that have been lysed (cell membrane broken) to release the contents.

Why do you see different molecular weights when you use recombinant or lysates with different antibodies? Has it something to do with the glycosylation status?
You may see different sizes when using recombinant proteins or lysates for a number of different reasons. Sometimes the lysate or protein isn't full-length, there can be differences in post-translational modifications and sometimes the protein is tagged with a marker that can affect the weight of the band.
