Description
CYP4F3, also known as Leukotriene-B (4) omega hydroxylase 2, consists of two approx. 60 kDa isoforms, and is involved in catalyzing the degradation of leukotriene B4. Current research is being conducted on several diseases and disorders including hepatitis, asthma, tuberculosis, cholesterol, ascariasis, and trichuriasis. Most commonly found in the endoplasmic reticulum, this protein has been shown to have interactions with ALOX12B, ALOX5, CYP2B6, CYP2C18, and CYP2C19 in pathways such as the HETE and HPETE biosynthesis and metabolism, Cytochrome P450, Arachidonic acid metabolism, and metapathway biotransformation pathways.
