Parkinson Disease: Disease Bioinformatics

Parkinson’s disease is a central nervous system disorder that mainly affects a person’s movement. Parkinson’s disease is caused by the death of dopamine generating cells in the brain. This causes tremors, stiffness, and slowing of movement. As the disease progresses, signs of dementia can occur as well as depression. Parkinson’s disease mainly occurs in people over 50, and while treatments can help relieve symptoms, there is currently no cure for Parkinson’s disease.
