Cutis Marmorata: Disease Bioinformatics

Cutis Marmorata is a condition in which the epidermis appears marbled and pink/blue in color when subject to cold temperature. This marbled appears of the skin occurs because when blood vessels contract a pale appearance is produced, and when the blood vessels dilate it creates a redish color. Although Cutis Marmorata can occur in adults, it most commonly affects infants. Treating Cutis Marmorata usually involves rewarming the skin.
