Submit your event on Fusion Proteins to be featured.
Fusion proteins, are also known as chimeric proteins, are created via the combination of several genes that originally coded for separate proteins. These proteins are often used for biological research and therapy and are created synthetically by recombinant DNA technology. However, these proteins are also created within endogenous tissue, most often from the translocation of chromosomes. Fusion proteins function as oncoproteins, thus are essential in cancer research.
